Revs Clip Eagles, 2-0

The Revs got the North Carolina portion of their preseason schedule off on the right foot, defeating the USL-2 Charlotte Eagles by a score of 2-0 on Saturday night in Charlotte. Zack Schilawski got the good guys off to a good start, scoring in the 21st minute, while Kheli Dube added the insurance in the 2nd half.
A couple of observations based on little more than the box score:
- Schilawski continues to justify what we’ve been hearing… namely, that he’s the best forward in camp right now.
- I wonder if it’s too early to read something into the fact that of the three trialists, Serbian Marko Perovic started, while Garreth Williams entered in the 75th minute, and Andres Raad played only four minutes.
- Khano Smith didn’t get off the bench. Thank God.
- I have a feeling about Nico Colaluca. Call it a hunch.
